Tips To Pamper Your Skin During Winter

For most people, the cold winter days bring more than just pinkish glow over the cheeks. Also, they bring itchy dryness to the skin over face, feet and all over the hands. This becomes even worse for some people and results into drier skin causing cracking, flaking and even eczema (a condition in which skin gets inflamed).

Soon after you switch on indoor heaters, the skin immediately starts to get drier irrespective of the material you used for heating purpose- electricity, oil, wood.
So follow these three simple tips to protect your skin during winters.

1. Go For A Cleanser Suitable For Your Skins’ Seasonal Needs
Select a cleansing milk either cream-based or gel based in order to neutralize the dehydrating and drying effects of winter days (as a thumb rule, the better the texture of the cleanser, the better suitable it is for winter days, since it manages the reliability of your skin’s defensive sebum and the essential epidermal oil it has, collectively with its epidermal cells, critical to the protection of your skin.
Tip- A simple and best way to know whether a cleanser is suitable for you is to observe your skin post cleansing
If the skin is tight, looks irritated and/or uncomfortable, know that you are using too harsh cleanser for your skin.

2.Pick A Better Moisturising Cream
Moisturisers are nothing but emulsions with different levels of oils and some water soluble elements providing them various degrees of nourishing and hydrating properties. By regularly applying moisturiser to the facial skin will balance the moisture levels of the skin. These creams can contain either humectant or emollient properties and sometimes contains both properties.
During winter, select a moisturiser with high emollients. Since this ingredient makes the skin softer and supple and helps in reducing the moisture loss of the skin.

3.Apply Facial Mask Twice A Week
Personally, I am big fan of facial mask! These masks can show a remarkable difference in the way your skin looks, making it glow.
Tip- Based on the ingredients, facial masks can show different types of effects, including soothing, purifying, hydrating, healing, stimulating and nourishing.

In cold climate, go for facial masks containing repairing, hydrating and nourishing effects. Though several great masks are available commercially like Hydrating Gel Mask, still you can prepare your own. You can prepare great masks at your home itself. Some of such ingredients include- avocado, almond oil, coconut oil, banana, grape seed oil, egg yolk, jojoba oil and soon. So it’s time for you to pamper your skin.

Once follow these tips and see the results they show on your skin. It’s recommended to go for Natural Health Products and natural Moisturisers since they do not show any side effects on your skin. Also, going natural is always good for your skin health.
